My name is Doug. I live in Chicago with my wife, Mara, and two girls, Brinley and Kaelyn. You can always spot me with sideburns and stripped socks on.
I have figured out I like creating stuff. Growing up making LEGO™ spaceships and doodling whenever I got the chance, has given me a passion to create. Making websites and print materials gives me an outlet to be who I am.
Being the sole designer/developer/art-director of a non-profit ministry for the last 5 years has given me experience in website design (the looks), website developement (the code), print design, and multimedia. From frisbees to large displays to content management systems, I have done alot, and there is a good chance I could help you with your project.
As a follower of Jesus, I especially enjoy creating things for people wanting to change the world. I always jump at the chance of working with those who seek to love God and love people above everything else. Reciveing a B.A. in Urban Ministry, gives me a unigue perspective on working with different ministries and organizations.
You're at home. The phone rings. You answer it. And something odd happens. The person talking doesn't stop. No pauses, no “ums”, no random background noise. It's perfect. Then you think to yourself, “Hey wait a minute! This is a pre-recorded, telophonic, computer generated, audio onslaught!”
When something like this happens to me, you can guess my simple reply.
I also believe you can't take yourself too seriously. Don't Talk to Robots reminds me to not take myself too seriously and always remember that people (not robots) are what is most important.
